Hi everyone! The Neural Economist is a blog by me with its goal being to provide a contrarian yet hopefully rigorous view on economics/finance concepts along with views on current or historic events through the lens of neuroscience. For some context, I just recently turned 17 and am actively engaged in school so if I end up being a bit behind schedule that's probably the reason why lol. I am an aspiring actuary with a love for mathematics, writing, economics and finance. I hope my posts provide a unique angle for you to analyse events around you and that I manage to get a "huh, interesting" reaction from you. This is not to be confused with a behavioral economics blog as I do not focus on psychology but rather the physiological/neurochemical mechanisms behind decisions and activities. The blog is still a work in progress so thats why some things probably seem a bit wonky.
